Exodus 20:6 --but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
It is God's desire to show His loving kindness to you. He has already appointed it for you and fashioned it especially for you. His loving kindness attends to you, to show you how much your Heavenly Father loves you. He has already ordained it for tens of thousands and you can be included in that number.
However, you must desire to be God's friend, longing and being inclined towards Him and His commandments. Seek an intimate relationship with Him and delight in Him. As you do this, this intimacy and desire will produce fruit. It will be verdant and germinate, as you treasure God's precepts. You will do what ought to be done and what God prohibits, you will avoid. Then God will show His loving kindness, His mercy to you in abundance.

Exodus 6, 2,3 -- God's Name
Exodus 6:2, 3
2 God spoke further to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD;
3 and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, LORD, I did not make Myself known to them.
The word "God" means ruler, judge, or divine one. It also means "the One True God". He is Jehovah, the Mighty One. He is Strength and Power. He is a strong Leader and Chief. So when Jehovah speaks, we should listen, even as Moses listened to Him.
Even though God, the Almighty One, declares, commands, warns, or threatens, He also speaks and converses with men, as man to man or friend to friend. He promises what He will do and sometimes He will even sing over His children, as a tender Parent. This is how Yahweh spoke with Moses and how He longs to speak with us.
What did God speak here to Moses? Here He tells Moses His name, Jehovah, the
Existing One. This is the proper name of the One True God. He is the One who abides, remains, and continues. He is not dead as men have said, but He lives eternally and forever. He is with us, accompanying us wherever we go. He is our firm strong Lord and Master. He is the King and Lord of all the earth. He is a husband to His people.
In stating this, the Lord was taking Moses to another level that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob did not see. He gave them the perception and vision to see Him as their ruler and judge. He showed Himself as Shaddai, the Almighty and the One Most Powerful. He is the One who deals violently with the enemy and destroys, devastates, and ruins all of his works.
The Lord declares His Name, which contains all of His reputation, fame and glory, to Moses. This is the name by which He calls and identifies Himself. We need to use His name when we call upon Him and then we will have an encounter with Jehovah. As Moses was acquainted with God as Lord, so we too can recognize and acknowledge Him as such. He is our God, the Almighty One, but He is also our Lord, the Existing One, who is our King, Husband, and close acquaintence.
