Circumstances that overwhelm, things beyond control, or even just the simple passing of time can bring discouragement leading to feelings of worthlessness. It is at those times and during those circumstances that you must remember the most important aspect of your life, that the Lord God chose you to set His love upon you.
The Lord, the Supreme God, first examined you, as if you were on trial. The proof of that examination resulted in God choosing and deciding for you. He selected the best and took the better part of you, because He desired and delighted in you. He, therefore, attached Himself to you and clove to you with His great love. He so wanted you to know this that He repeated it twice here in the words “set” and “love'. Because He knew you might doubt or question, He emphasized His love for you.
However, lest you think that you have done anything to deserve this love, the Lord then says that He chose you not because you were the greatest or more than any other nation or tribe of people. You were not the greatest, but actually the least of all. Still He bestowed His love on you, choosing you out from among the greatest because He approves of you.
Therefore, let all of those feelings of worthlessness and discouragement go. The Lord, the Supreme God, chose YOU and loves YOU. He will never let you go.
